"Cedar Farm" Bed & Breakfast

Cedar Farm Cottage Bed & Breakfast

Location:

Eight minutes North of Temora, just off the Barmedman Road (Goldfields Way). This is a totally self contained house, set on 280 acres of crop land, located next to the Big Bush Nature Reserve. This unique house was built with the environment in mind. It is powered by solar electricity, and it has a gas boosted solar hot water systme. The three large water tanks supplies the house with water. The Aqua Claris is a solar powered water treatment works with a worm farm in it and the treated water is pumped out under the lawn.

The house is double insulated. The upstairs master bedroom is 9m X 4m with a 4m X 4m balcony and a queen bed, sofa lounge and TV. The two downstairs bedrooms have two beds each. There is also a fold out bed and a travelling cot with basinet for little babies. The bedrooms have a chest of draws and wardrobe.

Bathroom has vanity, bath and shower. Towels and lined provided. The lounge has two lounge chairs, coffee table, TV, video, DVD player. There are also standing fans for summer and a gas heater for winter.

The kitchen has a wood stove, gas cook top, toaster, jug, microwave oven and sunbeam mixer. There are baking trays, pots and pans, and all the tools you would find in a family home to cook meals. The pantry is stocked with flour, sugar, rice, pasta, spices, sauces and a range of pantry items. There is enough cutlery and crockery for 12 people.

Laundry has a washing machine and laundry tup, ironing board and iron. Separate toilet.

Children Welcome.

There is disabled access to all rooms except the master bedroom upstairs. A gas barbecue is available on request. Pets allowed on a lead. Large gropus can hire outside tables and chairs for a small fee. Shower and toilet block available to larger groups who book the house as well.

ACTIVITIES

The farm is located in a very quiet and peaceful situation, so it is great for a retreat for two. the house is large enough to accommodate a large family or a blend of two families. The twenty or more acres around the house would be great for older children to explore.

Horse owners will love the dirt tracks on the farm and out along Cedar Road and nearby tracks. There are two 100m X 40m dressage arenas and lost of fallen trees to jump and a water obstacle with a cement base which is 30cm deep. Horses can graze in the three acre timbered paddock or the 15 acre meadow, both with dams. Cattle yards are available as well.

Kangaroos and wallabies drink at the dam, before grazing in the meadow in front of the house each evening. There are many different birds that can be seen from the house.
