Family Day Care can provide flexible hours of care, including long day care, part-time or casual care, to families with children between the ages of 0 and 12 years. Care may also be available overnight or on weekends, particularly for those parents who are on call or work shifts. HOW MUCH WILL IT COST? The rates are reasonable, currently set at:
$3.95 per hour for booked care in core hours (between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday), and Child Care Benefit is available to eligible parents to reduce these fees. WHO CAN USE FAMILY DAY CARE? Family Day Care offers quality home-based care for parents who:
Are working or studying FAMILY DAY CARE IN THE TEMORA SHIRE Family Dare Care has been operating in the Temora Shire since 1991, and there are 13 carers in the Scheme, 2 of whom are based at Ariah Park and the others in Temora. One of these carers is an In Home carer who looks after the children in the parent's home. HOW DO I KNOW FAMILY DAY CARE IS RIGHT FOR ME? Family Day Care is an accredited childcare service, accredited by the National Childcare Accreditation Council in July 2003. Carers must abide by the NSW Children's Services regulations and also by the policies of the Scheme. Caregivers are recruited and trained by staff members of the Co-Ordination Unit. Before carers can start looking after children, they have obtained a First Aid Certificate and undertaken a Working with Children Check. They also have their homes checked for safety and suitability when they first become carers. Carers attend regular training sessions to update their skills. Staff members check the carers' homes annually, monitor the care in the carers' homes and also provide advice, support and information to carers and families. Carers may care for 7 children at any one time, with no more than 5 or these of preschool age. Children benefit from this small group situation in a family home. There are regular Playgroup sessions for carers and children. These sessions are conducted by the Child Development Officer and are opportunities for carers and children to participate in large ground activities. WHERE IS FAMILY DAY CARE LOCATED? The office of Family Day Care is located at 148 Baker Street, Playgroup sessions are also held at this venue. The office is open from Tuesday to Friday and staff of Family Day Care may be contacted on 6977 2213 or 0407 438 613. Contact details | |||||||||||||
