HACC Centre

The Temora HACC Centre provides a range of support services for Shire residents who are frail aged, people with disabilities, and their carers.
These services are to support people to continue to live in their homes in the community. There are fees for specific services e.g. Meals on Wheels and Community Transport. Client contributions are requested for other services. Under the HACC National Guidelines no-one is denied a service if they are unable to pay. The services that operate through the HACC program include:
- Community Options: Individual case management and brokerage services for people who are at risk fo inappropriate or premature placement into residential care, have complex care needs and a high need for ongoing monitoring.
- Community Transport: Provision of local transport including a volunteer car service for medical appointments outside of Temora, and a weekly bus service every Thurday to Wagga.
- Home Maintenance and Modifications: To assist HACC clients with their homes and with any changes that may be necessary to make their homes safer, more accessible and easier to maintain.
- Dementia Day Care: Centre Based Dementia Care for people suffering from early to moderate dementia. This program also incorporates a Carers Support Group which meets once a month and facilitates and information network.
- Food Services - Meals on Wheels: This services provides meals Monday to Saturday, delivered by volunteers. Meals for Sunday's are delivered cold on Saturday.
- Laundry Service: Assistance to people through the local Laundrymat to have their laundry washed and dried.
HACC funding is provided through grants from State and Federal Governments to the Temora. Shire Services are provided subject to the capacity of available resources.
The HACC Centre is located at the NRCC House, 1st Floor, 294 - 296 Hoskins Street Temora and is open 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
