Temora Shire Council encourage residents in town to develop good recycling habits by taking advantage of the many green services at the Temora Landfill Site, recycling items that can be taken to the site include scrap metal, whitegoods, PET plastics and glass.

Residents have a range of options when it comes to being green. Recycled items such as paper and cardboard can be left kerbside and can be taken by the monthly collection service, run by the Temora Lions Club.

Alternatively, residents can deposit paper items and glass in the Lion's Melaleuca Street Depot.

Temora Shire Landfill Site is also a DrumMuster collection site, which allows farmers to dispose of chemical drums in a safe and environmentally friendly way. DrumMuster is the biggest environmental program ever undertaken jointly by farmers, chemical users, local government and Crop Production and Animal Health Industries.

Council provides and charges for 52 collections per annum for each residence in Temora, using the mobile bin service.

Only waste stored in these bins will be removed. For purchasing of a new bin please select the link for Fees & Charges.

Fees & Charges

Under the Local Government Act 1993, Council is required to charge a Domestic Waste Management charge, the charge for the 2009/2010 rating year are as follows:

Vacant Land - $5.00

Collection Service Per Bin - $143.50

Commercial Waste Management Charge - $143.50
