Mr Lavelle said a decision to stand for council was a big lifestyle decision and one that required considerable thought. "It can be time consuming and if you have other commitments, it may be a good idea to talk to people in your life that may affect. Mr Lavelle also encourage people to think about the positives, describing local government as a very rewarding field, with the role of councillor proving a positive life experience for many who had taken up the challenge.
