Grand Plans to Guide ShireLast modified: May 20, 2009 - 9:16 AM
At long last, Temora Shire Council has unveiled the draft of its new Local Environmental Plan (LEP), intended to guide land use in the shire through the next 10 years. A draft of the plan was given a public launch on Wednesday 14th May 2009, with public information sessions at Temora and Ariah Park. Copies of the draft LEP, accompanied by a detailed display of the maps, are on display at Council's offices in Temora, and also at Ariah Park Post Office. Interested residents can also visit the new Temora LEP website, www.lep.temora.com.au Apart from more than 50 highly detailed maps in the draft LEP, it also contains definitions of each type of zone, and sets in stone both the permissible and prohibited types of land use for each. If residents are not satisfied with some aspect of the draft LEP, lodging a submission on the current draft by June or in the case of major proposals, contact Mr Dunstan to discuss whether an amendment to the draft could be submitted.
