Ariah Park Street Upgrades Open

The Member for Cootamundra has joined Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack in opening the upgrades to Ariah Park’s Coolamon Street.

The improvements have included installing landscaping in the centre island, new car parking spaces and paths, along with an upgrade of existing street furniture, including seating and cycle parking.

The project has been made possible thanks to a $50,000 grant from the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund, and $184,602 from the Federal Government Drought Communities Program.

Steph Cooke MP said the upgrades had improved safety, accessibility and the street’s appearance.

“Ariah Park is a thriving community and deserves a main street that is functional and attractive,” Ms Cooke said.

“These upgrades are a real boost for the entire community and will encourage more visitors to stop and explore everything the town has to offer.”

“This is a fantastic example of all levels of government coming together.”

Mayor of Temora Shire Rick Firman said the upgrades have enhanced Ariah Park’s beautiful main street.

“The street upgrade means a tremendous deal, Temora Shire Council have been doing our bit to upgrade Coolamon Street and the Ariah Park community has done a huge amount of work,” Cr Firman said.

These programs from the NSW and Federal Governments are just game changers. We can’t thank our State Member enough for these crucial and essential program.”
