We all have a part to play in keeping our children safe when crossing the road, including on and around buses. School aged children might seem independent, but they still need a hand.
Remember:
As pedestrians your children are vulnerable around roads, buses, and other traffic. Teach your children to avoid distractions when crossing the road and around traffic.
We know that because of their sheer size and mass, buses cause severe outcomes for other road users in crashes. Buses cannot stop quickly, and as a driver you should always:
As a motorbike rider or cyclist, you need to be aware that buses have blind spots, so avoid passing or overtaking a bus when it is turning. Follow the road rules and ride with care.
