Located between Sydney and Melbourne, Temora is well positioned within the South West Slopes and Riverina region, making travel to major centres straightforward while still enjoying a relaxed regional lifestyle. The shire is located on Wiradjuri Country, approximately 80 kilometres north of Wagga Wagga, with Canberra around two hours’ drive to the east and Griffith about 1.5 hours to the west.

The shire includes the town of Temora and the villages of Ariah Park and Springdale, along with surrounding rural communities.
