"The Chief Executive of Murrumbidgee Local Health District Mrs Jill Ludford has rung to inform Council that the Temora township now has an active Covid case," Mayor Rick Firman said.

"Council were advised the individual is currently self-isolating in Temora, is fully-vaccinated and the case is currently being investigated."

"Covid has been all around us and, it is inevitable that it was going to enter into our Shire community at some point."

"Council and I warmly thank all those who have been able to be vaccinated. Also, we thank everyone for obeying the NSW Public Health Orders. As a Shire community, we must continue to be vaccinated – if at all possible – and remember to keep our loved ones and community foremost in our hearts and minds, in all we think, say and do," Mayor Firman added.

"We do appreciate Mrs Ludford taking time to ring and inform us of the situation. The communication and support extended to us from Mrs Ludford, together with our Federal & State MPs (Michael McCormack & Steph Cooke) has been exceptional.

"As our region, State and Country begin to open up, all of us as a Shire community will learn to live with Covid. Again, as we’ve said all throughout this Covid experience – please ‘Be Alert, but not alarmed."
