IT Support Officer

Apply your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to provide outstanding tier 1 IT support to end-users and maintain the smooth operation of Council’s Information Technology systems in collaboration with Councils Managed Service Provider. 

The position:

  • Receive, prioritise, investigate, action and resolve IT support requests.
  • Deploy, configure and maintain all computing and peripheral devices, telephony, radio links, remote access, and provide technical assistance with staff conferencing and presentations.  Install, configure and update software and hardware in collaboration with MSP. 
  • Administer the physical security access system (Gallagher), Council’s EDRMS (Content Manger) and support the effective running of Councils Geographical Information System (GIS).
  • Administer Council’s CCTV network.
  • Coordinate the purchasing of IT equipment and software and manage stock levels of replacement equipment and consumables. 
  • Maintain documentation, registers and technical procedures.
  • Work in collaboration with MSP and other key stakeholders to develop and update Council’s ICT Strategy, policies, and procedures.

Application requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant discipline with demonstrated experience or equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and experience using a wide range of applications and operating systems.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with an ability to prioritise and manage workload.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • The ability to work as an effective team member with open communication to achieve common goals, share knowledge and support others.
