Plant Operator

The Plant Operator – General Labourer position is delivery focused within the engineering works function of Council. This position requires operation of various items of plant and equipment along with general labouring duties to deliver civil construction related maintenance and upgrade works consistent with Council’s works plans, policies and procedures and site conditions.

The position:

  • Operate civil construction plant and equipment (watercarts, rollers, tractor slasher, loaders, utility vehicles)
  • Operate minor equipment and hand tools
  • General labour (traffic control, pipe laying, concreting, excavation, bitumen patching, vegetation control)
  • General administration / record keeping

  • Demonstrated experience operating large plant and equipment
  • Current HR drivers license (highly desirable)
  • Current Work Health & Safety Construction White Card (or obtain one prior to commencement)
  • Physically fit and willing to work outdoors
  • Work well in a team and as well as autonomously
