Murrumbidgee Local Health District is managing a number of cases of COVID-19 associated with Temora Hospital.

It is safe to present for emergency and maternity care at Temora Hospital. Additional staff have been brought in from outside Temora to ensure emergency and maternity services continue to be provided.

Temora Hospital is now closed to visitors until further notice.

There are currently four cases associated with the hospital. One case is a patient who presented to the Emergency Department and was transferred directly to Wagga Base Hospital.

Three cases were identified through routine PCR testing of admitted patients and are believed to have been acquired in hospital. The three patients have also been transferred to Wagga Base Hospital.

All patients and staff are being supported by the District and have undergone testing.

In addition, all staff at the Hospital are completing Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) prior to commencing their shift.

MLHD is monitoring the situation closely in line with its COVID-19 Management plan.

The community is reminded to monitor for symptoms and if they occur, stay home and isolate until you can access a test. For testing locations across the District go to www.mlhd.health.nsw.gov.au, or for help accessing a test call the Murrumbidgee COVID-19 Hotline 1800 831 099.

There are now 26 patients being treated for COVID-19 in MLHD’s hospitals, including 2 in ICU. One of the ICU patients is ventilated.
