NSW Government's Regional Job Creation Fund Boosting Jobs and Business

Businesses in the Cootamundra Electorate are now able to apply for funding under the NSW Nationals’ $100 million Regional Jobs Creation Fund, which will create jobs and stimulate local economies.
Member for Cootamundra Steph Cooke said businesses are encouraged to apply for the fund which will provide co-funding between $100,000 and up to $10 million to help businesses expand their production lines and provide incentives for interstate or overseas operations to relocate to regional NSW.
“This announcement is part of the NSW Nationals’ commitment to supporting local business and boosting jobs in towns which we know have been hit hard by drought, bushfires and COVID-19,” Steph Cooke said.
“Things have been tough for local families and businesses in the Cootamundra Electorate and this support to local business and the jobs created by this new fund will be great news for our region.”
“Eligible businesses are able to apply now, with the grants being available to support the purchase of new equipment, expand facilities, create new tourist experiences and visitor attractions or relocate businesses from out of state to regional NSW.
“Applications are now open and I encourage local businesses to visit the Invest Regional NSW webpage and lodge an application.”
Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW John Barilaro said the $100 million Regional Job Creation Fund will aim to create at least 5,000 new direct jobs across regional NSW in the next three years.
“Regional NSW is the backbone of our state and the Regional Job Creation Fund will help give life to our country towns, creating new jobs and delivering immediate economic stimulus as businesses leverage new opportunities. The resulting infrastructure will also provide work for tradies and suppliers meaning good news all round,” Mr Barilaro said.
“This fund will mean more jobs by helping local businesses fast-track their growth plans, giving them the money they need to purchase equipment or extend their premises today, instead of in the future.
“Supporting local businesses means they can attract new customers, which means more people in work, earning a wage that they will spend in local shops, which in turn supports local retail workers as well as their suppliers.”
Applications are now open and will close on Friday 14 May 2021 or when program funding is fully allocated.
